What a crazy winter it has been in Dallas this year. Last week we had snow and this weekend is the beginning of Daylight Savings Time (don’t forget to spring ahead!). Hopefully spring will be here to stay, at least for a little while before it gets really hot.
If you’ve been cooped up for the last week or so now is the time to get out. There are a lot of great family friendly events to take in in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. What follows are some events and activities happening in Dallas for the month of March, 2015.
Dallas Home and Garden Show

The Texas Home & Garden Show has been an annual spring time event for 35 years. The home, landscaping and decor series provides home and garden products and services for consumers. Spend Spring Break at Dallas Blooms, the largest floral festival happening in the southwest. This year’s floral exhibit features more than 500,000 spring blooming bulbs along with life-size Texas themed topiaries, entertainment, food and special activities celebrating the state. Flowers include tulips, daffodils, Dutch Iris and hyacinths, pansies, violas and thousands of other springtime annuals and perennials that bloom throughout the entire festival.

Tour the rooming house, and room, occupied by Lee Harvey Oswald when he assassinated President John F. Kennedy. View Oswald’s room, his birth certificate, the original newspaper from that event and meet the homeowners who live in the home now.
Spring Equinox and Psychic Fair

Celebrate the spring equinox at the psychic fair March 20th. The Psychic Fair features a variety of psychics including tarot card readers. Music and closing ceremony are also happening at this event.
Dallas St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Festival

Celebrating its 35th anniversary this year, the Dallas St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Fesitval will be held on Saturday, March 14th from 11 am to 2 pm. Named one of the best St. Patrick’s Day Parades in the nation, the Greenville Avenue Area Business Association (GAABA) promises the 36th year to be bigger and better than ever. Highlights of the parade include over 90 parade float entries, more than 125,000 attendees, and 1700+ parade participants on just a two mile route.
